Error When Trying To Run Exagear(Solved)

Postby KSmith0420 » Wed Jun 20, 2018 8:50 pm

Running on RPi 3 B+ Raspbian 4.14.34-v7+ #1110 SMP Mon Apr 16 15:18:51 BST 2018 armv7l

Everything is a fresh install with everything up to date with apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.
Keep getting this error when trying to run exagear:

~ $ exagear
lkv_SubstitutedPathsListEntry::create: substitution of the directory '/var/log' is requested,
but in the guest image there is no directory named '/opt/exagear/images/debian-8/var/log'.
Failed to start Exagear. Please check that file /opt/exagear/bin/ubt_x32a32_al exists and has executable permission

So I am answering my own question. if you had the error I had its probably because you didn't reboot after apt-get upgrade on a fresh install and just went on to install exagear-desktop. just uninstall exagear fully then reboot and install again

And for those of you who have this error but have legit keys:

Please, reactivate your key!
License check has failed.
Exiting.
Failed to start Exagear. Please check that file /opt/exagear/bin/ubt_x32a32_al exists and has executable permission

you need to use the activation tool before you run exagear or it will just delete your license.
