STEAM on RPI2

STEAM on RPI2

Postby ezraholm » Mon Jun 08, 2015 10:25 am

Hello,

I just installed exagear on my RPI2 running Ubuntu 14.04 with an Lubuntu desktop. All worked fine.
But then I install steam:
Code: Select all
$ sudo dpkg -i steam_latest.deb

Now it tells me some dependancies are missing so:

Code: Select all
$ sudo apt-get -f install

everything gets installed...
however, the cmd: steam or steam-launcher doesnt do anything for me...

By chance anyone got it to work already?

edit: this might be of help:

while i do have a Pi2 and a steam account, i haven't been able to get a decent build of the ubuntu host OS to run right. It always seems to degenerate and start causing random threads to start crashing until i reboot the system (for example, http threads in apt-get start crashing constantly after some random interval). It happened to me on 2 different flavors of unbuntu (unbuntu 14.04, and a ubuntu/linaro 15.04 build). So at the moment, I'm stuck with running Raspbian.

As far as I now steam client checks presence of hw opengl drivers or smth in that way.
We are working under OpenGL support, but not this feature is not supported, unfortunately.
